We currently have approximately 300 bales of last years hay for sale at £3.50 per bale. We will shortly be cutting and providing new hay for this year in small (generous sizes) bales for transfer to our hay barn.  Due to the success of last years collection of hay from the field before we transported it to the barn, we will be offering this again, with a price likely to be around £3.00 / bale (to be confirmed).  We are very pleased with the quality of this years grass which had a period towards the end of last year where sheep were kept on it. Due to one of our ladies on the yard intending to move out of Gloucestershire later this month due to work commitments, her stable will soon become available. Should anyone be considering moving from their present yard then please contact us to arrange a viewing of our facilities. A deposit of £20 (refunded when vacating the premises subject to terms) is required to reserve this stable and once we have a date when the stable will become available then this will be confirmed at the earliest opportunity. Hi Everyone Just to remind everyone that children are welcome to our 3rd Anniversary show jumping competition on Sunday 2nd June and our next children’s shows will be held on Sunday 7th July and Sunday 4th August. These shows are before the new popular series of competitions will start again in September. We are pleased to advise that we have a vacancy for a Part Time Cook / General Kitchen Manager who will be responsible for the cooking and management of our kitchen during show days. The work involves weekend working (normally up to 5 days in the month) with varying hours depending on entry levels for competitions. There may be a further option for working some evenings during a month, subject to agreement. Catering experience would be preferred though training will be offered as required to at least CIEH Level 2 in food hygiene and safety. Our kitchen has a 5 star award for hygiene standards, and the successful applicant must be willing to work within the CIEH guidelines Other requirements are that they are honest, reliable and happy to work with the general public. The applicant must have transport and we are offering a starting rate between £4.50 and  £7.00

Dear Supporter You may have seen the recent news stories concerning an outbreak of Equine Herpes Virus (EHV 1) in Gloucestershire. Two horses have been shown to have the neurological form of the disease and one the respiratory form. It appears that others are also showing signs but have yet to be definitively diagnosed. Although not a legally notifiable condition, EHV 1 is contagious and does have the potential to be quite a serious disease. Indeed, the neurological form can lead to paralysis. In most cases, EHV 1 is spread via respiratory transmission so wherever horses are brought together from different yards there is the possibility for the disease to spread if one of the horses present is affected. For this reason the Heythrop have very responsibly suspended hunting for a week. It is important to be aware that the risk of your horse contracting EHV 1 is very small and

Regrettably we have had to cancel again our 6th Anniversary show due to snow fall descending on us from 7.00am today, and forecast to remain for most of this morning.  We had to cancel our original Anniversary competition, due to snow, back in January and here we are now in Spring and snow is with us again! We are rescheduling this event for the 3rd time for SUNDAY 2nd JUNE, when hopefully the sun will be with us!! Please put this date in your diaries and we will prepare and issue a schedule for this event shortly. For those who wish to brave the weather this morning we are offering clear round jumping from 10.00am until 12.00 Noon, as we have a full course of jumps laid out. The cost is £3.50 / round.
